Season 25/26 has seen a big influx of new players looking to kick off their footballing careers with the Mini Colts.
We have the privilege of being able to field 2 full teams in the U7s league this season and many more younger ones waiting for their time in the Mini Colts group below.
Both U7s team have new managers with Scott coaching the U7s Colts team and Kieran coaching the U7s Broncos team. Both of which are also experiencing their first seasons of management.
Both teams are raring to go and are looking forward to seeing what the season brings!
Here’s to a new season of fun and enjoyment for all, except Coach Scott who is expecting a few more grey hairs to appear from it!

As we kick off the 2025/26 season, excitement is building around the newly formed Birchwood Chargers U11s. This marks a significant step forward for the team as they transition into 9-a-side football, a format that brings fresh challenges and opportunities for growth.
Despite being a new squad, the Chargers have already begun to show promising signs of cohesion, skill, and determination. Training sessions have been full of energy, with players quickly adapting to the larger pitch, new positions, and increased tactical demands. The enthusiasm from both players and coaches is palpable, and there’s a strong sense that this group is ready to make its mark.
What stands out most is the positive team spirit and the individual talent emerging across the squad. From confident defenders to creative midfielders and sharp attackers, the team is beginning to gel beautifully. Always giving 100%, the hard work and effort put into training sessions are now paying off, with the results on match days reflecting their dedication and teamwork.

The 2025/ 2026 season bring much change for the U13s as we transition to 11-a-side and start life without Arnie Osbourne.
After a really difficult season in the B league last year, where we struggled to turn some of the performances into results, there is much change with several players leaving. Having moved into the C League for this season, we have an exciting challenge to develop and integrate multiple new players (including several who have never played in a football team before) with the players from last year into a team.
This Season for us is about getting some enjoyment back into the team, we have had some really competitive friendly matches and this season we hope to be competing against teams at our level on a weekly basis. My main aim is to develop a strong team bond, we have always struggled with players getting their heads down and getting frustrated with each other. This season I want to ensure there is a real positive environment where everyone supports each other regardless of results.
Having a team with very mixed ability and qualities, there is focus on integrating and developing players so they can all develop and be the best players they can be! As a new coach it has been a real mixed start to the year, we have certainly had some good and some frustrating sessions & friendly matches so far, but as a team we all know there is a lot more to come from the players if they work together and with the coaches.
Hopefully this year with the help of the Club, Sponsors, Families and Coaches we can work together to give the players all the tools they need to support there growth as footballers and a team, which will lead to a much more enjoyable season.
